The speech of Jidai Festival :-)

The festival is held every October 22 at Kyoto. Every year there are about 2000 people who take part in the parade. Length of parade is 2 kilometers and it takes 3 hours. The participants wear historical costumes and they represent seven periods.

This picture represents Edo period and this is the samurai. The same day, Kurama fire festival is held at night. This is traditional festival. It used the fire, so it’s dangerous but, people feel the festival ran high. If you go to see Jidai festival, you can enjoy Kurama festival too!!

Jidai festival is one of the Kyoto’s big festivals. It has been going 114 years. I think Jidai festival is good to learn about tradition of Kyoto. Please go to Kyoto and enjoy Jidai festival!!
